TOHO manufactures high-purity titanium dioxide by the gas phase method;
In the process titanium tetrachloride is vaporized and then oxidized.
TOHO’s titanium dioxide is made from highly distilled titanium tetrachloride that is also used to manufacture TOHO’s titanium metal (sponge and ingot) that requires high-purity.
Therefore, TOHO’s titanium dioxide achieves the purity of 3N and 4N which enables it to be used in the fields mentioned below.

Applications

Main Application of our titanium dioxide is electronic components such as PTC (Positive Temperature Coefficient) Thermistor and MLCC (Multi-Layered Ceramic Capacitor). It is also used for optical lenses, medicines and food additives because of its high-purity. Additionally, TOHO is the only titanium dioxide manufacturer in Japan which has the qualification to produce titanium dioxide for medicines and food additives.
